Have you stumbled upon  blogs that tickles your curiosity beyond the first posting? These blogs are those which are clicked on again and again and which get links even without asking for it. What creates these blogs bookmark-worthy? If there are various reasons for the success of a blog, there are also various mistakes to steer clear from in maintaining a blog.

  • Few written articles.  People will consider your webpage non existing no matter how good the writings on it if you do not make the required changes.  The more users will notice your blog if you constantly write informative and interesting contents.  What makes business blogging hard is the section where you keep it updated and  upload fresh contents to get and keep the interest of your readers.
  • Not considering a good design. Your website’s appearance is being considered by most people in looking at its contents. Since the arrival of Web 2.0 styles, clean and easy to navigate designs are what people look for.  The design of your blog site must be contemplated on. Nice-looking web blogs can be attained in various ways. In doing so,  you can use SiteGrinder, an impressive plugin that enables you to design your website as easy as putting together something that looks good through Photoshop. Media Lab’s Sitegrinder makes web design simple. Users will respect you and come back for more by learning that you put so much thought on the appearance of your site.
  • Not trying to connect with RSS. Shockingly, some sites today do not even need subscription to RSS (Really Simple Syndication). In short, this is how readers could be notified of a new blog posting and read at least some part of it.  Make it ahabit to put a link to your RSS feed in some place where it could be seen by the users.
  • Blog contents which could be fairly long.  Interesting content is not similar to long content.  Chances are great that you are able to grab the attention of the readers longer. Blog posts of just 2-3 paragraphs are enough but ensure that they are reasonble length.
  • Not creating an “About” page. Users would want to know more about you especially if they find your site interesting. Putting up an about page assures people that there’s a real person posting the articles.
  • Not registering with blog directories.  Bloggers who devote more of their time in setting up their about the author page and getting themselves listed in blog directories can expect that their site will attain more hits.  This is a great place in finding bloggers who belongs to your intended market.

The more admired your blog becomes, the more you’ll see what a good investment it is in promoting your business.
