When I meet with any of my prospects and clients, the second most important thing (the first is checking the market demand) is evaluating their website design and web copy. Generally, I am much happier to create their website from scratch!
Benefits Of A Website That Converts Traffic Into Prospects:
The first benefit is increased inquiries. Your prospecs are sure to establish contact with you when you have successfully made a positive connection with them. They are there at your site for a reason, to check out your offerings. The more who visit your site, the more prospects you have. More prospects translate to more sales!
The second benefit is that you could at least capture their contact, if they are at the stage of simply finding information. Through continued contact, you can be their selected vendor when they are ready.
What Happens When Your Website Converts Traffic Into Prospects?
I have met clients who wondered about the power of the internet and was fascinated when I told them about the possibilities. Now, they themselves are living proof of how powerful the internet can be in making your business grow.
One client receives up to 40 new inquiries per month. Now, new clients are calling them all hours of the day and email inquiries are filling up their inboxes.
My business partner has expanded her music school twice in 6 months and has to hire 2 staff to handle the calls. In addition, they have increased the prices of the music lessons as they want to attract premium clients who pay well for her excellent services. She can anticipate demands, and accordingly plan for future expansion.
When you have converted your website from an online brochure to an effective lead generating instrument, then you can expect to be busy servicing new clients and maybe even have the beef to choose only elite clients to service.
So How To Increase Website Conversion?
Tip 1) Segment your target audience.
Determine who your target audiences are then create a page specific for each of them. Most companies will build their website around their products and services, but the reality is, nobody really cares about your products. They are mostly interested to know how you can be of help to them. By specifically creating a page for them, you can reach out personally and make them feel special, which in turn will make them more kindly disposed to communicating with you.
Tip 2) Reduce the choices
People do not like to make choices. When faced with too many options, they tend to refrain from choosing. It will be easier to just assume that the people who come to your site are easily bewildered. What is often the case is that, the owners think that their website is idiot-proof, the design having come from them, but in fact, most people will think differently.
Solution: De-clutter the website. Go through the process that you want your visitors to go through to navigate around your website. Home –> Find Their Profile –> Contact You. And make the flow as uncomplicated as you can and limit the choices.
Tip 3) Provide an irresistible call for action
Anyone that lands on your website is important. And it should be your objective to capture their attention! Critical, necessary and you must do everything to get them to contact or leave their contact details for you.
Point them to the next step. Invite them to subscribe to an e-newsletter. Give them a reason to give you a call. Add you on facebook. Read your blog. You have to make them want to do, what you want them to do. Remember to always stay in contact. After all that, you will be able to build a database of ready prospects who will need very little prodding to buy your products.
